Creating a Github Account
Why do you need an account?
A GitHub account is your entry point into the platform. It:
- Lets you create and manage repositories.
- Enables collaboration with teams.
- Builds your public developer portfolio.
Step-by-step: Creating Your Account
- Go to GitHub.com
- Click "Sign Up"
- Email address (use one you'll keep long-term)
- Username (professional, memorable, and unique)
- Password (create a strong password)

- Verify Your Account
GitHub may ask you to verify your email address. Check your inbox and click the verification link.
- Choose Your Plan
- Free plan:Unlimited public and private repos (sufficient for most).
- Pro PlanAdds advanced tools, more storage, and CI/CD minutes.
GitHub offers several plans:
- Customize your experience
- Set up your profile with a photo and bio.
- Explore GitHub's features and settings.
- Select topics your're interested in (Phyton, AI, Web Dev, etc.)
- Enable/disable notifications
